Rangers vs PSV Preview
The runners-up of the Scottish Premiership take on the runners-up of the Eredivisie in the first leg of the Champions League playoff round on Tuesday evening, as Rangers host PSV in a battle for group stage qualification.
Of course, both sides will qualify for a European group stage regardless of the result, with the winner entering the Champions League group stages, whilst the loser enters the Europa League group stages.
In the last round – Rangers narrowly advanced over Swiss outfit Servette, winning 3-2 on aggregate thanks to a 2-1 victory in the first leg, and a 1-1 stalemate in the second leg.
PSV convincingly dispatched of Austrian side Sturm Graz in the third round, recording a 7-2 triumph on aggregate with ex-Barcelona forward Luuk de Jong bagging three of the seven.
The pair actually met at the same stage, and in the same competition, last year. Both sides have since appointed new managers, however it was the Scottish side that came out on top last year, advancing with a 3-2 win over two legs.
