Andrew ended the week with another winner and bids to continue where he left off with four stats picks on Monday, August 21st. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
CATTERICK 4.10
BOROUGH (system – New Bay handicappers, top-three finish last time out)
BOROUGH qualifies as a bet for me today on five different systems, including New Bay handicappers who recorded a top-three finish last time out. Backing all the qualifiers would have found 75 winners from 253 bets (29.6%) for a profit of £116.07 to a £1 level stake at SP. He made all at Hamilton last time and is well drawn at stall 1.
LINGFIELD 6.20
STRYDER (system – Ed Walker, 3yo sprint handicappers, beaten last time out)
In-form Ed Walker has a great record with three-year-old sprint handicappers and those who were beaten last time out often make value bets. Since the beginning of 2018, he’s won with 35 of the 142 qualifiers (24.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £60.16 to a £1 level stake at SP. Tom Marquand has a six from 20 record when riding for the yard under these circumstances (+£23.00) and he can get a tune out of handicap debutant STRYDER in this 6f contest.
BANGOR-ON-DEE 7.35
ON CLOUD NINE (system – Donald McCain, handicap hurdles at Bangor, recent run)
Since the beginning of 2011, Donald McCain has a 44 from 135 record (32.6%) in handicap hurdles at Bangor with runners who raced within the past four weeks. Backing all the qualifiers would have returned a profit of £137.66 to a £1 level stake at SP. ON CLOUD NINE was a comfortable all-the-way winner of a mares’ maiden hurdle over course and distance last time and can follow up.
BANGOR-ON-DEE 8.05
MAGGIE O (system – Donald McCain, handicap hurdles at Bangor, recent run)
MAGGIE O is a qualifier on the same system as ON CLOUD NINE (see above) and chased that one home when runner-up in a course and distance mares’ maiden hurdle last time. Brian Hughes prefers stablemate NEVER NO TROUBLE but Maggie O is almost twice the price and looks the each-way play.
