Brighton are reportedly interested in making an offer for Tyler Adams, as the Seagulls look to hijack Chelsea’s deal for the Leeds star.

The Blues are facing yet another hijacked deal, as Brighton are keen in signing Tyler Adams and snatch the American for Chelsea’s clutches.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side had agreed a deal in principle to sign the Leeds midfielder, after triggering his £20m release clause.

However, after Brighton accepted an £111m bid for Moises Caicedo from Liverpool, despite rejecting three separate bids from Chelsea, the Seagulls are looking for a replacement.

Reports also indicate that Chelsea are not out of the race for Moises Caicedo, as Todd Boehly is said to be keen on matching or beating Liverpool’s world record bid.

The deal would cost far more than the £20m for Tyler Adams, however, the American may be inclined to sign for Brighton as the Seagulls can offer European football this season.

After an impressive spell in the MLS for New York Red Bulls, Adams earned a move to Bundesliga giants, RB Leipzig and contributed to six goals in 103 appearances.

Dominating the midfield, the 24-year-old established himself as one of the brightest prospects in Europe and became a household name in the USNMT squad.

In the summer of 2022, Adams moved to Leeds United and was tipped to achieve great things in England’s top-flight, however the campaign did not go according to plan and the Whites’ were relegated from the Premier League.

The former Leipzig midfielder has four years remaining on his current contract, however, with a release clause of £20m a deal could be simple to complete.

Brighton are yet to make an offer for the Leeds midfielder, however, after Caicedo’s move is finalised the club will have funds to spend.
