The departure of Crystal Palace’s most potent goal threat, Wilfried Zaha, has left Eagles fans pondering their chances for an improved season for 2023/24.

The exit of their talismanic captain shouldn’t have too much of a bearing on their season if the likes of Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise can shoulder more of the responsibility in front of goal.

The latter’s future in South London has also been called into question over the summer, with Chelsea and Manchester City keen on the Frenchman.

Nevertheless, the club have moved quickly to bring in promising Brazilian talent Matheus Franca from Flamengo, while former Bournemouth midfielder Jefferson Lerma was picked up on a shrewd free transfer.
