Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that the club ‘will do everything’ to keep both Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva amid rumours that they will depart the club this summer.
Having been linked with Manchester City exits this summer, Pep Guardiola has revealed that the Etihad hierarchy ‘will do everything’ to keep hold of Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker.
Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have been reported as potential destinations for Silva, whilst Walker has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich.
In his press conference ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield clash versus Arsenal, Guardiola seemingly accepted that both could depart, however he reaffirmed that City won’t let them go without a fight.

“Regarding Kyle and Bernardo. They’re important players for us. We want them to stay. We will do everything. To replace these two players is incredibly difficult.” Guardiola said in his presser.
“It’s not like Gundogan where he finished a contract. We will do everything because replacing these two players is so difficult.
“We lost two incredible players for us in Ilkay and Riyad, who were massively important for us in big important games with goals and assists.
“To lose Kyle and Bernardo would be so difficult, that is why we are going to do everything to keep them.”

Guardiola then went on to say that he won’t stand in Walker and Silva’s way if they truly want to leave, however City would require a fair offer that reflects their importance to the team.
“From day one I don’t want any players who don’t want to be here,” he continued.
“I want to work with guys who want to stay and work with staff and players, but after that we have to get a proper offer.
“If we don’t get a proper offer, he’s our player and we want him. If they want him, they will take a plane and come here and talk to our sporting director and CEO to make an agreement because three parts have to be there.
“For us to buy a player, just because we are Man City it is £10m or £15m more expensive than other clubs all the time. If people want our really really important players, first they have to make an offer and that hasn’t happened.”
🗣️ “From day one until the end, I don’t want any player that doesn’t want to be here. I want to work with the guys that want to stay.”
