Belgian midfielder Romeo Lavia reportedly wants to join Liverpool this summer, with talks currently ongoing with Southampton amid his £50million price tag.
Romeo Lavia looks to be nearing a move to Liverpool as the midfielder reportedly wants to make the switch, whilst the Reds continue to progress in ‘concrete’ talks with Southampton over his transfer.
This comes from Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claims that Liverpool is now the favoured destination for the Belgian despite interest from Arsenal and Chelsea throughout the window.
He also claims that no agreement has yet been met, however the Saints are after around £50million to part ways with their young midfield talent.
“Romeo Lavia: Understand that Liverpool is the top favourite now! Lavia wants to join Liverpool and has given the green light,” Plettenberg tweeted on Tuesday morning.
“No agreement between the clubs yet but concrete negotiations are ongoing,
“His price valuation was around £50m, and [Jurgen] Klopp wants him.”

Lavia only joined the Saints from Manchester City last summer, penning a five-year deal with the club.
And despite the south coast club’s relegation from the Premier League, Lavia was a standout performer at the St. Mary’s, leaving no question of his ability, showing clearly that he is a level above the Championship.
Liverpool’s interest comes as they look to completely overhaul their midfield, having already acquired Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig.
The likes of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have all already departed at the end of their contracts, whilst Jordan Henderson and Fabinho are also tipped to exit – with both drawing interest from Saudi Arabia.
At just 19-years-old, Lavia may be the answer to all of Klopp’s midfield struggles from last term, and securing his signature would undoubtedly be a major coup for the club looking towards the future.
