Fulham are reportedly in the race to sign Southampton captain, James Ward-Prowse, despite not making an official bid for the free-kick specialist.

Marco Silva will be looking to bolster his side in the summer window, as a host of star players are reportedly set to leave the club.

Star man, Aleksandar Mitrovic, scored 14 goals in England’s top-flight, despite receiving an eight-match ban for a confrontation with a match official.

However, the Serbian could be on his way out of Craven Cottage after Fulham rejected a £25m bid from Al-Hilal and the Saudi Arabian have also seen improved £35m bid be rejected.

Brazilian winger, Willian, is another player that could move onto to pastures new, due to the former Chelsea star declining an original extension. However, the club have offered an improved deal that is close to being agreed this summer.

These potential outgoings mean summer additions are a priority for the side from west London and the Cottagers are reportedly interested in Southampton star, James Ward-Prowse.

After a ninth place finish in the Premier League, the side from west London are preparing for another season in England’s top-flight. Meaning a plethora of activity is expected and the club have reportedly made an approach for Manchester United midfielder, Fred.

Marco Silva is clearly after a midfield reinforcement to boost his sides chances next year, making Ward-Prowse an extremely viable target.

Ward-Prowse contributed to 13 goals in 38 Premier League matches and has established as a Premier League midfielder – being just one free-kick away from equaling David Beckham’s record (18).

The Southampton midfielder is under contract until 2026 and could cost the club up to £40m – as the Saints are keen to invest in the coming months.
