Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing PSG superstar, Neymar Jr, in hopes of reuniting the Brazilian with his former manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are keen to continue their recent spending in transfer windows and new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, may be the man to convince Neymar to Stamford Bridge.

This window has seen Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Diego Moreira move to west London, despite the club finishing 12th in the Premier League.

Pochettino worked with the Brazilian icon in Paris, in a spell that saw the club clinch a league title and French Cup, meaning the duo can be successful together.

Neymar’s future at PSG has been surrounded with uncertainty, as Lionel Messi left the Parisian side to join Inter Miami and Kylian Mbappe has reportedly asked to leave the club.

According to reports, Pochettino’s previous relationship with the 30-year-old could be key in negotiations – should Neymar decide to leave this summer.

Neymar is regarded as one of the best players in his generation, from his time in Barcelona where he contributed to 181 goals in 186 appearances. This saw him switch Spain for France, as he signed for Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 – making 173 appearances, so far.

The 2022-23 was a frustrating time for the 31-year-old, despite scoring 18 goals in 29 appearances, in all competitions. Neymar has been out of action since the beginning of February, after suffering an ankle injury against Lille.

Missing the rest of the 2022-23 campaign due to ankle surgery has surrounded the Brazilian’s future in doubt, as the club are unsure if he can return to his best.

With only two-years remaining on his PSG deal, the tricky winger may be keen on departing this summer and could cost up to £75m.

Chelsea are not the only club that have shown interest in the former Barcelona star, as Al-Hilal are also reportedly preparing a move for his services.
