Old James Maddison tweets throwing shade at his soon-to-be new club Tottenham Hotspur have been deleted ahead of his £40m move.

James Maddison “Anti-Spurs” Tweets Deleted Ahead Of Move

The England international is edging close to completing his move to Spurs and will leave Leicester after five seasons at the King Power Stadium.

However, it seems the 26-year-old is no fan at all of the new club he is about to join if the deleted tweets are anything to go by…

A tweet from 2012 said: “I hate Gareth Bale with a passion, calm down you monkey, Wilshire is 10x better than you chimpanzee”

Another from 2013 then said: “Hope Luis Suarez destroys Tottenham today, don’t like Spurs! Especially that monkey that everyone’s on about!”.

The now deleted James Maddison tweets were tweeted when he was 15 and 16 respectively when playing for Coventry City’s youth team. However, now December 2019 is the cut-off point on his account, with nothing beyond that point now visible.

Despite a poor season for the Foxes and eventually being relegated, Maddison still managed to impress on a personal level. The playmaker scored 10 goals and recorded nine assists but failed to keep Leicester in the Premier League under Dean Smith.

Spurs are pushing to sign a handful of players this summer after already completing the permanent signing of Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski. However, they will not be making a permanent move for Clement Lenglet from Barcelona, and are focusing on targets elsewhere.
