Tottenham End Pursuit Of Lenglet On A Permanent Deal

The 28-year-old centre-back spent last season on loan at Spurs from Barca and made 35 appearances.

However, it is now understood that the North London side have pulled out of negotiations to make the deal permanent.

Lenglet is not seen as a priority for Spurs, and they are now focusing on other targets. Ange Postegcoglou has identified Bayer Leverkusen’s Edmond Tapsoba, Wolsburg’s Micky van de Veen and Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo as alternatives.

Barcelona were hoping that Tottenham would progress with the deal with the club in need of making sales this summer to ease their financial situation.

Postecoglou is keen to bolster his squad ahead of his first season in the Premier League. Spurs are edging closer to completing the signing of Leicester City ace James Maddison after agreeing a deal. Maddison will sign for the side for £45m and will reportdly earn £170,000 a week.

Lenglet will not be signing for Spurs on a permanent basis so fans can expect to see a pursuit for other targets.
