Lyon are reportedly interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea star, Christian Pulisic, as the American looks set to leave the Blues this summer.

As the 2022-23 season reaches its climax, Chelsea supporters will be ready to forget their club’s display during the campaign. Finishing 12th in the Premier League, the Blues recorded their worst season in Premier League history.

Chelsea got off to a poor start, as Graham Potter left the club after just six-months in charge, and his replacement, Frank Lampard, failed to turn things around.

With European football not returning to Stamford Bridge, any activity in the summer will be impacted. However, the Blues are the league’s biggest spenders over the last two windows  – spending over half a billion pounds.

However, a host of players are expected to leave the club with this summer, as Kalidou Koulibaly, Kai Havertz and Mateo Kovacic all complete moves elsewhere.

Another player that has been reported to seek new ventures this summer is American international, Christian Pulisic, who has been rumoured with a move to Ligue 1 side, Lyon.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger has contributed to 31 goals in 145 appearances for the Blues since signing in 2019 and has shown glimpses of the form he found in the Bundesliga.

However, the 24-year-old failed to cement a place in the Chelsea starting eleven this season, playing just 812 minutes in the Premier League and scoring one goal.

A major knee injury kept the winger out of action for eight matches, causing Pulisic to drop further down the pecking order under Frank Lampard.

Pulisic has two-years remaining on his Blues contract, which means any deal this summer could cost up to £25m and may be a stumbling block in negotiations.
