The Blues will look back on the 2022-23 campaign reluctantly, as they finished 12th in the Premier League and recorded the lowest points tally in the club’s history.
This poor display has made summer signings a priority and given the club’s lack of goals, bringing Osimhen to Stamford Bridge may be the necessary step.
Since signing from Lille in 2020, Osimhen has made 101 appearances – scoring 59 goals in the process and is now one of the most sought after strikers in world football.
The Nigerian was a key member in Napoli’s title-winning side, forming a superb partnership with Georgian international, Khivcha Kvaratskhelia.
Any deal to land the former Lille star could face slight issues, as the Italian side have valued Osimhen at a staggering, £120m – a fee that would smash the British transfer record.
