Bayern Munich are reportedly monitoring the situation of Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, as Thomas Tuchel is a ‘big fan’ of the Dutch international.

Bayern Munich clinched their 11th consecutive league title on the final day of the Bundesliga season and maintained their throne in Germny.

Borussia Dortmund were one win away from clinching the trophy, however, a 2-2 draw with Mainz 05 on the final day ended any dream of winning the league title once again.

Despite this, Thomas Tuchel will look back on the campaign with disappointment as his side were eliminated from the Champions League and DFB Pokal in emphatic fashion.

The former Borussia Dortmund manager was appointed earlier this year after Julian Nagelsmann’s surprise departure and Tuchel was unable to turn things around.

A lack of success in cup competitions has made summer signings a priority and Tuchel is reportedly a ‘big fan’ of Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong.

The Netherlands international has made 183 appearances for the Catalan side. scoring 15 goals and contributing with 21 assists so far.

During his time in Spain, the 26-year-old has picked up, one La Liga title, one Spanish super cup and the Copa del Ray.

However, despite these accolades and impressive individual performances, the former Ajax midfielder has been surrounded with transfer controversy and was reportedly close to joining Manchester United last summer.

The Spanish side have remained firm in their decision to keep de Jong at the Nou Camp and any deal to land the Dutchman could cost up to £80m.

As his contract expires in 2026, it is unlikely that we will see the Barcelona star leave this summer, however, due to the club’s financial issues, there is still a chance for summer departures.
