Serie A club Lazio have reportedly made an approach for Wilfried Zaha ahead of his Crystal Palace contract reaching its expiry date next week.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Serie A side Lazio have approached Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha’s contract at Selhurst Park comes to an end later next week, and he is expected to depart with several offers on the table.

Premier League clubs have been linked in previous weeks, with the likes of Tottenham and Aston Villa named in reports, as well as interest from the big spending Saudi Pro League.

But Romano has now exclusively confirmed that Zaha has been approached by Lazio, however it won’t be an easy deal to complete at this stage.

“Lazio have now approached Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha on potential free deal.” Romano tweeted.

“Negotiations took place but it’s not an easy deal at this stage.

“Zaha has many proposals and so will assess his options soon.”

Whether the Ivorian ends up at Lazio or not, his time with Palace almost certainly looks to be coming to an end.

The 30-year-old came through the youth ranks at the club before joining Manchester United in 2013, and then returned to the Eagles permanently in 2015 and has remained there ever since.

Since returning permanently, Zaha has been named Crystal Palace Player of the Year on three occasions, and was also named Premier League Player of the Month in April 2018.

In total, he has spent 18 years with the club, and will be remembered as one of, if not the greatest player at the club in recent times.
