Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a move to sign German forward Kai Havertz from London rivals Chelsea for a fee in the region of £65million.

Kai Havertz is reportedly close to switching Chelsea for Arsenal, as the Gunners near a £65million deal for the German forward.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that talks are ongoing to finalise the structure of the deal in terms of instalments and add-ons.

He also confirmed that personal terms are in place and are subject to the deal being done, with the medical in line to be scheduled.

Ornstein revealed the news on his Twitter account.

“Arsenal close to agreement with Chelsea to sign Kai Harvertz for fee in region of £65m.” he tweeted.

“Talks ongoing to finalise structure (instalments + add-ons).

“Personal terms in place & subject to deal being done, medical will be scheduled.”

Havertz is one of many now expected to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer, with Chelsea looking to offload assets in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations.

N’Golo Kante has already departed for Saudi Arabia, whilst Edouard Mendy, Hakim Ziyech and Kalidou Koulibaly are expected to follow suit.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has also been tipped for a move to the Middle East. However, the 22-year-old also holds interest from the Premier League and the Bundesliga.

Mason Mount and Conor Gallagher have also been heavily linked with moves away from the club, as the Blues look to make up for spending upwards of £600million in the previous two transfer windows.

If Havertz’ move to the Emirates is completed, it will mark the end of a three-year spell with Chelsea.

During this spell, he earned medals in the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Not only did he win the Champions League, but he scored the winner against Manchester City in the 2020/21 final.
