Bayern Munich midfielder, Leon Goretzka, has revealed his commitment to the Bundesliga side, despite interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

The Bundesliga giants finished the 2022-23 season as champions once again, which means the side from Munich have now won eleven consecutive league titles.

Borussia Dortmund were one win away from clinching the trophy, however, a 2-2 draw with Mainz 05 on the final day saw the prestigious title return to the Allianz.

Despite this, Thomas Tuchel will look back on the campaign with disappointment as his side were eliminated from the Champions League and DFB Pokal in emphatic fashion.

The former Chelsea manager was appointed in March, after his predecessor, Julian Nagelsmann was made surplus to requirements following a run of poor results.

Elimination from the Champions League quarter finals was enough to concern Bayern supporters and the club are preparing for huge summer window. One player that had been rumoured with a move away from the Allianz is Leon Goretzka.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, the German international is determined to stay in Munich and help the club reach their ‘huge aims’ next season.

The former Schalke midfielder has made 179 appearances for Bayern and contributed to 69 goals in the process – cementing his place amongst Europe’s elite midfielders.

Formering a superb partnership with his fellow German midfielder, Joshua Kimmich, Goretzka has been a pivotal member in the heart of Bayern’s midfield.

However, after a difficult campaign this year, the midfield duo had been rumoured with a move elsewhere and these rumours were heightened by the possibility of West Ham captain, Declan Rice, joining the Bundesliga champions.

With Goretzka confirming his desire to stay in Munich, a transfer this summer looks unlikely – especially with the three years remaining on his current contract.
