According to UK betting sites, Manchester City have moved closer in their pursuit of RB Leipzig defender, Josko Gvardiol, as the Croatian looks set to leave the club this summer.
Manchester City completed the illustrious treble last Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League final, clinching the club’s first European trophy.
Despite this historic achievement, Pep Guardiola is reportedly keen on strengthening his side this summer and the blue side of Manchester are set for a huge overhaul this summer.
As well as a host of additions, the club are also preparing for a plethora of departures with Kyle Walker, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan all rumoured with a move away from the Etihad this summer.
One player that could be on his way to the Premier League is Croatian international, Josko Gvardiol, as the 21-year-old looks likely to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

Making 41 appearances in all competitions, the commanding defender has cemented himself as one of the brightest prospects in Europe and has attracted interest from a variety of elite clubs.
Impressing on a domestic stage has not been the only factor in Gvardiol’s recent rise, as he was a key member in Croatia’s 2022 World Cup display.
A move to City would add to an already star-studded defensive line, with the likes of John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake all performing superbly in the 2022-23 campaign.
Gvardiol’s contract at Leipzig is not set to expire until 2027 and in 2024, the Croatian will have a release clause at around £97m. Meaning any deal this summer could cost up to £80m – which may be a stumbling block in negotiations.
