Following their Europa Conference League triumph on Wednesday evening, West Ham chairman David Sullivan has confirmed that Declan Rice will leave the club in the summer, with ‘three or four clubs interested’ in signing him.

England and West Ham star Declan Rice will depart the East London club this summer, chairman David Sullivan has confirmed.

Rice has long been linked with moves to Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as Bayern Munich in recent weeks.

But now, his move away looks a step closer after his season came to a close with a Europa Conference League triumph in Prague on Wednesday.

Speaking to talkSPORT, chairman David Sullivan was asked whether the final was Rice’s last game for the club.

“I think it has to be.” Sullivan said.

“We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going.”

After winning the Conference League, Rice became the third Hammers captain to lift a trophy for the club, after Bobby Moore and Billy Bonds.

He has made a total of 245 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals in that time.

“You can’t ask for a man who has committed more to us this season,” Sullivan continued.

“In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement – or several replacements. It’s not something we want to happen. We offered him £200,000-a-week 18 months ago. He turned it down.

“It’s cost him £10m to stay at West Ham in that time [in lost wages]. And he wants to go. You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to be there. I think the offers will start to come today.

“There are three or four clubs who have shown interest, but out of respect to West Ham, while we’re still playing, you don’t make offers for players.”
