West Ham United have won the Europa Conference League. By winning the trophy, defender Emerson Palmieri has now won all five UEFA competitions.
The Hammers claimed the Europa Conference League title by beating Fiorentina thanks to a late Jarrod Bowen winner.
The game wasn’t short of drama. In the first half the Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi was hit by an object that was thrown from the West Ham fans.
Luka Jovic thought he ha scored the opener just before the end of the first half. The linesman flagged for offside and VAR agreed.
It was actually Said Benrahma who got the scored the opener. Fiorentina equalised shortly after and the game looked like it was going to extra time. That was until Bowen was put clean through, he scored the winner to send the West Ham fans, staff and players wild.
You have to go all the way back to 1965 for their last European trophy victory. They won the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
For their defender Emerson Palmieri, the title completes an impressive achievement for the Italian defender. He has become the first player to win all five UEFA competitions.

Emerson Palmieri And His UEFA Success
The first of Emerson Palmieri’s success came back in 2019 with another Premier League team.
Emerson Palmieri was a part of the Chelsea team that won the Europa League in the 2018/19 season. As part of the same Chelsea team he went on to win the Champions League in the 2020/21 season and then the UEFA Super Cup in 2021.
For his national side, Italy, he was part of the squad that won Euro 2020. Italy beat Gareth Southgate’s England on penalties in the final.
To complete the modern day UEFA clean sweep he needed to win the Conference League. Emerson Palmieri played the full 90 minutes as he helped West Ham beat Fiorentina in a dramatic final that saw West Ham win it in the final minutes.
