Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich midfielder, Joshua Kimmich, as the German looks set to leave the Bundesliga side this summer.

The Gunners have enjoyed a very progressive season, sitting second in the Premier League and pushing Manchester City all year.

A poor run of results, which included disappointing draws with West Ham, Liverpool and Southampton, stopped any dreams of clinching the title.

However, Mikel Arteta’s side will remain positive for the 2023-24 campaign, as they topped the Premier League table for the majority of the season.

Midfield additions have been reported as a ‘priority’ for Arsenal in the summer, with club captain, Granit Xhaka looking likely to leave in the coming months. West Ham star, Declan Rice, has been the primary target for Arteta as he looks to play Champions League football.

Another midfielder that is reportedly being monitored by the north London club, is Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich. The German international has been rumoured to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, as the club look to improve on a poor season.

Bayern have had a disappointing campaign for their lofty standards, being eliminated by Manchester City in the Champions League quarter finals.

Julian Nagelsmann was shockingly sacked earlier this year and his replacement, Thomas Tuchel, has failed to cement his philosophy on his return to Germany.

Fierce rivals, Borussia Dortmund, sit top of the table after beating Ausburg in today’s huge Bundesliga clash. Taking full advantage of Bayern’s 3-1 defeat to RB Leipzig yesterday afternoon.

With the club unlikely to pick up silverware for the first time in over a decade, rumours of summer departures have started to circulate. With long-time servant, Thomas Muller, being targeted by a host of European, MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs.

Kimmich’s deal in Munich is set to expire in 2025, meaning a deal for the Germany international could cost over £75m. Meaning the Gunners may have to choose between Declan Rice and the Bayern Munich star.
