Nottingham Forest have seen their chances of relegation decrease, after a thrilling 2-2 draw with Chelsea. Steve Cooper’s side are now three points clear of the bottom three, with only two games left to play.
- The visitors took the lead after 13 minutes, as Taiwo Awoniyi rose highest to capitalise on an Edouard Mendy mistake.
- Forest went into the break with the lead, however, six minutes into the second half Chelsea found an equaliser through Raheem Sterling.
- Sterling then put the Blues in front, as he scored six minutes later. Two goals in under 10 minutes put the hosts in control.
- Steve Cooper’s side did not give up and were rewarded as Awoniyi scored his second of the match.
- Chelsea pushed but could not find a winner, as Forest left the capital with a well-earned point.

Can Forest Stay Up?
Steve Cooper’s side are finishing their campaign strongly, picking up a vital four points from their last two matches. Today’s result against Chelsea may prove vital, as Everton and Leicester face Manchester City and Liverpool, respectively.
Forest have two Premier League matches remaining, as they look to stay in the league this season. Arsenal travel to the City Ground for the club’s next league fixture, as the Gunners look to push Man City all the way.
Awoniyi is coming into form at the perfect time for Forest, as he scored his second consecutive brace, making it eight league goals this season. The Nigerian striker will be crucial for the Midlands-based side, as they look to stay in England’s top division.
