According to reports, a host of Premier League clubs are keen on signing Aston Villa goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez, with bids ready to be made at the end of the season.

Aston Villa have had a superb end to the Premier League season, with Unai Emery guiding the Villains up the table and amongst the Europa League qualification places.

Prior to the club’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United, the former Arsenal manager had seen his side score in ever match and even win five matches in a row.

One player that has been key to this success is World Cup phenomenon, Emiliano Martinez. The 30-year-old has made 33 appearances in the league, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.

These performances have reportedly attracted interest from a variety of clubs, as Spurs, Chelsea and Manchester United are all ready to move in for the former Arsenal shot-stopper.

Spurs are looking for an additional goalkeeper this summer, with Hugo Lloris set to leave at the end of the season. The Frenchman has been ruled out for the remaining fixtures and could make way for the Aston Villa star.

On the other hand, Chelsea have utilised both Kepa and Edouard Mendy over the last two campaigns. However, after a poor season there may be a huge overhaul in the summer, with Martinez being on the shortlist of additions.

Erik ten Hag has reiterated his confidence in David De Gea, despite the recent mistakes against Sevilla and West Ham United. The Red Devils have been linked with a variety of goalkeepers, however, Martinez could be a priority this summer.

Signing the Argentinian could prove difficult, as his current contract expires in 2027 meaning a deal could cost over £50m. This, alongside Martinez’s display in the 2022 World Cup, makes the goalkeeper a difficult player to sign.
