Tottenham Hotspur Still Monitioring Jordan Pickford Despite Recent Contract Renewal

According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, despite signing a new contract with The Toffees.

The 2022-23 season has been a difficult time for the former Sunderland shot-stopper, as the Toffee’s find themselves 19th in the Premier League table.

The 29-year-old has made 32 appearances in the league so far, keeping seven clean sheets in the process. But with his side looking likely to go down, many are wondering what could be next for Pickford.

Spurs are reportedly interested in the Everton star, as they prepare for long-time servant, Hugo Lloris, to leave the club after almost a decade in north London.

Signing Pickford may be harder than expected due to the Brit signing a new contract back in February, in a deal that should keep him in Merseyside until 2027.

It is unknown whether the deal involves a ‘relegation clause’, which would allow Pickford to leave the Toffee’s should they fail to stay in the top division.

However, Spurs are expected to sell their prolific talisman, Harry Kane, which may fund a move for the English shot-stopper.

The side from north London have bigger issues to deal with before moving in for the Everton keeper, as their manager concerns continue.

Daniel Levy parted ways with Antonio Conte following a run of poor results and fiery press conferences. His replacement, Cristian Stellini, was relieved of his duties after Spurs’ 6-1 defeat to Newcastle – leaving Ryan Mason in charge until the end of the season.

Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have been linked with the role and may be a key factor in Spurs’ pursuit for the England number one.
