Manchester United are hopeful of keeping Casemiro, after reports that Bayern Munich are interested in the Brazilian midfielder start to surface.

Casemiro has been one of Manchester United’d star players this season, helping his side win the Carabao Cup earlier this year. The Brazilian signed in the summer for around £70m and has been worth every penny.

The 30-year-old has had an outstanding career, winning five Champions League trophies in the hear of Real Madrid’s midfield.

Forming a telepathic relationship with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, the Brazilian cemented himself as one Europe’s elite defensive midfielders.

The former Real Madrid star has made 43 appearances for the Red Devils this season, contributing to 11 goals – proving he is a threat at both ends of the pitch.

However, his availability this campaign has been hindered due to a host of disciplinary punishments. Red cards against Southampton and Crystal palace saw the Brazilian miss six Premier League matches, whilst accumulation of yellow cards made it seven league fixtures.

Despite this, rumours about Bayern Munich being interested in the United midfielder have started to circulate. The Bundesliga side have struggled since Thomas Tuchel was appointed, after Julian Nagglesman was shockingly dismissed.

The German giants were knocked out of the Champions League quarter finals by Pep Guardiola’s relentless Manchester City, with the Cityzens coming out with a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Tuchel’s side have also lost their place at the top of the table, due to their fierce rivals, Borussia Dortmund, taking advantage of Bayern’s poor form. Failure to win the title would make it Bayern’s first ‘trophyless’ season since 2011-12.

The former Chelsea manager has reportedly made a marquee midfield signing the priority, with Konrad Laimer’s arrival in the coming window not deemed ‘good enough’.

United have prepared for a potential move from their German counterparts, with reports indicating that the Brazilian has no intention of leaving Manchester.
