Marc Cucurella missed out on their home defeat against Brentford. Frank Lampard spoke to the media and provided a Cucurella injury update.
Chelsea and Lampard find themselves in a tough period. Under Lampard, they are yet to win and are just ten points above the relegation zone.
They failed yet again to win in their recent game at home to Brentford. The 2-0 defeat pushed them into the bottom half of the table. Many think Chelsea will finish in the bottom half of the table, something no one would have predicted at the start of the season.
Cucurella Injury Update: Spaniard Set To Miss Couple Of Weeks
Before their clash with Brentford, Lampard spoke to the media about his team selection for the game.
When providing a Cucurella injury update, Lampard said:
“Cucurella is injured. He injured himself in training two days ago,
“He will be out for a few weeks with a quad injury.”
Cucurella has been used in rotation with Ben Chillwell at left-back for Chelsea this season. Cucurella started the second leg of Chelsea’s Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid due to Chilwell’s suspension.
This news comes at the worst possible time for Chelsea who recently lost Reece James and Mason Mount to injury. Both players will miss the reminder of the season with their respective injuries.
