Kevin De Bruyne produced an exquisite performance against title rivals Arsenal before coming off. Pep Guardiola has provided fans with De Bruyne injury update after the game.

De Bruyne looked a different class from the off in their 4-1 dismantling of Arsenal in the Premier League. It took just seven minutes for him to open the scoring. The Belgian struck a long range effort neatly in the corner.

The midfield maestro assisted the second goal for John Stones, before getting his own second just after half-time.

At times the De Bruyne dominated the game for the Citizens, as he so often does.

De Bruyne Injury Update: Should Fans Be Worried?

De Bruyne was brought off just after 80 minutes. The midfielder looked leggy and tired after putting in a real shift for his team.

Speaking after the game, Pep confirmed it was just a safety precaution bringing De Bruyne off:

“Kevin told me he had some niggles in his legs, so I made a substitution.”

Pep’s De Bruyne injury update will be comforting to fans as Man City come into a crucial stage of the season. They still have the chance of winning the treble with a FA Cup final against rivals Man United upcoming and their Champions League semi-final against La Liga‘s Real Madrid.

If Man City are to win those two and the Premier League, they’ll need De Bruyne. He has now scored seven goals and provided 16 assists in 29 league appearances this season. Most of his assists have been to Erling Haaland. The pair have made a formidable partnership that other teams most envy.

Before their next game against Fulham, everyone will be awaiting another De Bruyne injury update.
