Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Leeds United winger, Crysencio Summerville, as the Whites’ relegation concerns continue.

According to reports, Newcastle are ready to make a move for Summerville, should Leeds be relegated from the Premier League this season, having been impressed by his performances for the Whites this season.

The Magpies are enjoying their best season in over two decades, as Eddie Howe has guided them to third in the Premier League. Boasting victories over, Manchester United, Spurs, and Chelsea, the Toon are on track to finish in the top four.

However, with rumours over a possible Allan Saint-Maximin departure starting to circulate, the club are on the hunt for a replacement.

Barcelona star, and former Leeds winger, Raphinha, has been linked with a move to St. James’ Park after a difficult time in La Liga. But with the Brazilian being priced around £60m, Eddie Howe may turn his attention elsewhere.

The Dutchman has been a bright spark in Leeds’ disappointingly dim season, contributing to six goals in 25 Premier League matches. Javi Garcia’s side sit 16th in the table after their 1-1 draw with Leicester earlier on this evening.

Summerville’s quick-feet, agility and drive on the ball has attracted interest from other clubs, with Borussia Dortmund battling Newcastle for the 21-year-old’s services.

Supporters of the Toon will be confident that a deal can be made, as their takeover in 2021 has made them one of the richest clubs in world football.

Newcastle’s wealth may not be enough to sway the Leeds star, as the move will rely on whether or not the Whites can avoid the drop in one of the tightest relegation battles in history.
