According to UK betting sites, Aston Villa have been price at 12/1 to sign the former Manchester United marksman, Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgium international has had endured a difficult few seasons, after his ‘£100m’ move to Chelsea in 2021 did not go according to plan. Lukaku only scored 15 goals in 44 matches on his return to Stamford Bridge, causing the club to loan him back to Inter.
During his first spell in Italy, the prolific striker scored 30 goals in 44 matches and helped Inter win the Serie A. However, this year has been less impressive, scoring eight goals and being benched for the club’s Champions League quarter final.
His loan at Inter comes to an end in the next few months and many supporters are wondering what is next for the former Manchester United player.
Lukaku spoke about the uncertainty surrounding his future, after scoring a brace during Inter’s 3-0 win over Empoli yesterday.

Chelsea are in desperate need for a striker, with the Blues sitting 11th in the table and are without a win under the returning Frank Lampard. However, with Lukaku’s wage demands, it may be a tough deal to agree between the two parties.
A permanent move to Inter also seems unlikely, with the club reportedly ‘unwilling’ to meet the huge transfer fee that Chelsea have set.
One club that have emerged as surpirse contenders, according to the bookies, is Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side. The Villains are in a rich run of form which has seen them climb up to seventh in the table.
Star man, Ollie Watkins, has enjoyed a fruitful spell in front of goal – scoring 14 goals in the Premier League so far. This level of output has reportedly attracted some of Europe’s top clubs, with Arsenal said to be interested in the England international.
Emery will face competition from some elite clubs, with Atletico Madrid being favourites to sign the Belgian goalscorer.
