Manchester City Champions League odds shorten to 2/1 after beating Bayern Munich this evening at the Eithad Stadium.
A quarter-final tie that pitted the two tournament favourites against each with Bayern Munich travelling to Manchester City. It was a game that lived up to all the hype and showed why they’re both so highly thought of.
With the rain falling heavily, Manchester City started strong with their players pressing from the off. Bayern keeper Yans Sommer was tested from early on. Early pressure almost saw Erling Haaland tackle the ball into the goal, just another way of scoring for the goal machine.
However, it wasn’t the big striker who got the game’s opening goal. Midfielder Rodri struck a fantastic shot home from outside the area. A special way to claim his first Champions League goal.

The Bundesliga leaders struggled to create clear-cut chances throughout the game. Leroy Sané struck a long range effort just wide before the break and just after half-time he saw his effort saved by Ederson with his chest.
Despite losing Kevin De Bruyne during the second half, Manchester City made easy work picking the shaky Bayern defence apart.
Haaland turned to playmaker by setting up Bernando Silva who made it 2-0. Not one to miss out on the goals, Haaland smashed him an easy chance. His goal takes him to 45 in all competitions, the most by any Premier League player in a single season in all competitions.

Manchester City had chances to completely kill the game off by adding more goals, but were stopped by impressive saves by Sommer.
Who Will Win The Champions League?
Manchester City Champions League odds put them as favourites. They’re 2/1 to claim the trophy for the first time in their history. Their 3-0 victory in this first leg is a real statement of their intent this season.
As expected, Bayern have fallen way down the bookies odds after this defeat. Napoli, who currently lead the Serie A, are now behind Man City at 10/3. They’ve been irresistible this season and a Champions League triumph would be magical for them.
It’s hard to count out Champions League specialists Real Madrid who face Chelsea in their quarter-final. They’re priced at 6/1.
