According to UK betting sites, Newcastle United are favourites to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay with the Scotsman falling out-of-favour this season.

Since Erik ten Hag arrived in Manchester, the Red Devils have showed signs of returning to their former glory – already winning silverware. However, one player that has not played a huge part in this success, and could be on the move, is Scotland international, Scott McTominay.

The 26-year-old made his Manchester United debut in 2017 under Jose Mourinho and has been a consistent member of the squad since. His impact on the team his year has been less fruitful, starting only seven matches in the Premier League so far.

United’s midfield additions have pushed the Scottish stalwart out of the side, with the likes of Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, and Marcel Sabitzer being preferred. His usual threat going forward has been tamed this campaign, with fans still waiting for his first league goal.

Being eased out of the United squad has caused a lot of supporters to question his future in Manchester, as rumours of a possible move start to circulate. According to the bookies, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are favourites to land the industrious midfielder.

The Toon are having an impressive season following their recent takeover, as the club now find themselves in Champions League contention. The signings of Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman, and Nick Pope have boosted the club and a similar influx of players is expected.

Newcastle are not the only side who are interested in the Scotsman, his fellow countryman, David Moyes, is reportedly keen on bringing McTominay to West Ham. The Hammers are battling relegation but should they stay up then the United man could be the perfect replacement for Declan Rice – who looks set to leave.
