Below you can find all the latest team news, odds and predicted line-ups in our Southampton vs Brentford preview, ahead of this intriguing rescheduled mid-week Premier League clash on Wednesday evening.

Southampton vs Brentford Preview

Brentford succumbed to their first defeat in 12 games last time out against relegation-threatened Everton, and in doing so had an impeccable record that stretched back to before the World Cup cut short.

The Bees will be eager to get their European push back on track, although they face another of the bottom three in midweek when they travel to Southampton on Wednesday night.

The Saints have put together a few crucial results in recent weeks since Ruben Selles took over at the helm, but they remain firmly rooted to the foot of the table, and two points from safety.

They managed to frustrate Manchester United last time out and hold the third-place occupiers to a goalless draw. This also marked the first time since late October than Southampton have managed to put successive games together without facing defeat.

Although they remain firm favourites to be relegated across football betting sites, the gap between themselves in 20th, and Crystal Palace in 12th remains just five points with 12 games left to play.

Southampton vs Brentford Odds

Southampton vs Brentford Prediction

It is hard to imagine a scenario where Brentford lose successive fixtures against two of the bottom three, and given Southampton’s torrid home record on the south coast, Bees fans will be expectant for their side to bounce back immediately.

The Saints have picked up just nine points from a possible 36 on home soil, and have scored just 11 in the process.

Prediction: Southampton 1 – 2 Brentford

Southampton vs Brentford Team News

Ruben Selles may welcome back a trio of James Bree, Lyanco and Mislav Orsic after they featured for the B Team last weekend, although Valentino Livramento and Juan Larios remain sidelined.

A relative lack of goals may also see the likes of Sekou Mara and Adam Armstrong push for a start ahead of Che Adams and Theo Walcott.

Southampton Predicted Line-Up: Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Bella-Kotchap, Bednarek, Perraud; Lavia, Ward-Prowse, Alcaraz; Walcott, Adams, Sulemana

Meanwhile, Thomas Frank will likely stick with the front three of Ivan Toney, Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbuemo, although a defensive shake-up may be in order with Pontus Jansson or Kristoffer Ajer pushing for a start ahead of Ethan Pinnock.

Thomas Strakosha and Keane Lewis-Potter remain their only serious injury concerns.

Brentford Predicted Line-Up: Raya; Hickey, Pinnock, Mee, Henry; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Toney, Wissa
