According to UK betting sites, Everton’s relegation odds have drifted to 7/5 after Sean Dyche’s side beat a determined Brentford side 1-0.

The Toffee’s came into the fixture as clear underdogs, as they have been amongst the relegation places for the majority of the season. Brentford, on the other hand, are having a superb season boasting victories over, Manchester United and Manchester City.

However, it was the home side that started the game with more confidence and took the lead in the opening minute through summer signing, Dwight McNeil. That goal makes it five goal contributions for the winger this season, a bright spark in what has been a disappointing campaign.

Brentford struggled to create anything of not in the opening-half, with Ivan Toney coming closest from long-range. Meaning Everton were ahead at the break and Sean Dyche’s side were determined to hold on for the remaining 45.

Thomas Frank’s side came out looking for a leveller and they almost found a way as Ivan Toney found some space, but could not find the necessary finish. The Bees piled the pressure on, but Jordan Pickford kept them at bay, helping his side claim all three points.

Will Everton Avoid The Drop?

Sean Dyche was appointed by Everton with his industrious style being the Toffee’s biggest chance of staying in the Premier League. Frank Lampard was sacked after just two wins all season, a feat that Sean Dyche managed months into his reign.

The English manager will be looking ahead to his side’s next Premier League fixture, as they travel to west London to face Chelsea. Graham Potter’s side have picked up two wins in their last two league matches and will be looking to continue that good form against Everton.

Relegation Odds:

Southampton @ 1/2

Bournemouth @ 4/6

Everton @ 7/5
