The fifth round gets underway this evening, and we’re taking a look at the latest Chris Sutton FA Cup prediction for Leicester City vs Blackburn Rovers. The former Rovers striker is expecting the Foxes to secure their place in the quarter-finals with a win at the King Power Stadium.

Premier League outfit Leicester progressed through to the fifth round thanks to two 1-0 victories against League Two opposition. Their latest win was against Walsall, thanks to FA Cup specialist Kelechi Iheanacho’s second half strike. The Nigerian striker also scored in the third round against Gillingham.

As for Championship opposition Blackburn, they faced Norwich City away from home in the third round, winning 1-0 with Jack Vale scoring the only goal of the game. They had to do a little more work in the fourth round, and were took to a replay by Birmingham City after drawing 2-2.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side eventually progressed via a 1-0 away win in the second game, and it was an Auston Trusty own goal that settled the score in extra-time.

Chris Sutton FA Cup Prediction – Leicester City vs Blackburn Rovers

Sutton’s Prediction: 2-1

The former Blackburn star striker highlighted that the Championship side are doing very well this season, however their style of play may benefit Brendan Rodgers’ side.

“This should be a good game because Blackburn are doing well – unbeaten in nine games and fourth in the Championship. Rovers play some good football under Jon Dahl Tomasson too.

Leicester, meanwhile, are in a relegation battle. We saw again when they played Arsenal at the weekend that, if James Maddison doesn’t play, they just aren’t creative enough.

“Blackburn’s expansive style might suit Brendan Rodgers’ side, though – if they take the game to Leicester, that makes it easier for the Foxes to open them up. The Premier League side also have home advantage.”

If you agree with Sutton’s scoreline prediction, BetUK are offering 7/1 on a 2-1 correct score bet.
