Andy Murray has seen his odds to win the Qatar Open cut to 21/10 after defeating the Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka to advance to the final.

British tennis icon Andy Murray reached the final of the Qatar Open today, defeating talented Czech Republic yougster Jiri Lehecka 6-0 3-6 7-6 (8-6) in another dramatic match in Doha.

Following the completion of the second semi-final, Murray’s opponent for the title is confirmed to be former world number one Daniil Medvedev. They will face off in the final in Doha on Saturday.

It’s Murray’s first final since June 2022, and his fifth in Doha, as the Scot fought back to secure a mighty victory over Lehecka.

In his post-match interview, Murray was asked how he fought back – to which he laughed and responded:

“I don’t know – that was one of the most amazing turnarounds I’ve had in my career.

“I have no idea how I managed to turn that one round, to be honest.

“I’ll enjoy this evening and hopefully put on a good performance tomorrow.”

Murray continued in his post-match interview, highlighting his calmness in his victory.

“There is a certain calmness to those situations because you have been in them a lot in a short period of time,” Murray said.

“You know how you need to try and play and it becomes a little bit of a habit.”

It becomes the third time Murray has won from a match-point down this year, and he has now won all six deciding sets that he has contested.

The final will be a tough test for Murray, as he takes on 2021 US Open champion Medvedev.

Medvedev advanced to the final by beating second seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-4 7-6 (9-7).
