Lionel Messi is now 35, but after his performance at the World Cup there’s seemingly no let-up just yet.
He’s currently with French side Paris Saint-German, who are sitting pretty at the top of Ligue 1. However, there is speculation growing that Messi could be on his travels again this summer, with David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami the hot favourites to sign the 7-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Lifelong friend of Beckham, Phil Neville is currently the head coach at Inter Miami. The former Manchester United defender has told The Athletic “I think it goes bigger than Inter Miami. I think it’s in MLS. It’s big for the MLS. I think this would be probably the biggest signing ever in American sports.”
Messi a Free Agent in The Summer
Lionel Messi has currently scored 27 goals for PSG since joining them in 2021 but would be a free agent again in the summer. Messi’s two-year deal will expire at the end of this season – meaning other clubs are starting to stand up and take notice.
Of course, Messi will command big wages – his deal at PSG is expected to be worth £25m a year. Therefore, Inter Miami would have to be matching this at worse, but this still dwarfs the huge £165m that Ronaldo is getting at Saudi side Al-Nassr.

Barcelona are also in the running to re-sign the Argentinian striker. The Spanish side are second best in the Lionel Messi transfer odds betting market @ 7/2.
