British heavyweight Anthony Joshua has confirmed he will fight Jermaine Franklin on 1 April at the O2 Arena in London, and he’s seeking a first win since 2020.
Joshua, 33 has lost his last two fights against Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, and is looking to get back to winning ways after his last win came back in 2020 against Kubrat Pulev.
This will be Joshua’s first bout without at least one world title on the line in almost seven years. AJ boxed at championship level for 12 fights in a row before his run ended when Usyk took his titles in 2021, and then retained them beating Joshua again in August 2022.

Franklin was recently defeated by Dillian Whyte, which was a first loss in 22 fights for the American. Though he lost by majority decision, there was some that thought the 29-year-old did enough to deserve a victory.
“I am looking forward to stepping back into the ring on April 1 at The 02 London.” Said Joshua.
“Mentally and physically I feel ready. I want to put on a show and impress my coach as he has high standards.
“Franklin has a good style and great attitude, which he has shown in recent fights.”
