Chelsea match-winner Conor Gallagher was surprised by how much distance he covered in his side’s last-ditch win over Crystal Palace on Monday night.
Gallagher Reacts To Distance Covered Against Palace
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher scored his third goal in 2 games to give the Blues a stoppage-time lead against Crystal Palace yesterday evening before Enzo Fernandez rubber-stamped the victory minutes later.
The 3-1 victory was Chelsea’s 13th win in a row against Palace and signifies a much-needed upturn in form for the west London club.
🚨🚨I don't know why Chelsea fans hate Conor Gallagher yet he is better than both Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez who are worth £220m

Gallagher, who was heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in January, was one of Mauricio Pochettino’s standout performers against the Eagles, scoring twice and running 13km in the process.
Speaking to Sky Sports following the game, Gallagher said: “I think when we scored early in the second half it was that thought of ‘Alright, we’ve got to go and win this now’.
“And it was getting later and later, my calves started cramping up with a few minutes to go, so to get that goal, and then obviously Enzo [Fernandez] got one at the end as well, it was an amazing feeling. The lads are buzzing.”
Interjecting, presenter Lewis Jones said: “Well, I have a reason why your calves may have been cramping up. You ran 13km tonight!”
To which a surprised Gallagher responded: “Wow, that’s far init!
“I always want to run as hard as I can for the team, but it didn’t feel like I ran that far today, to be fair, because we had so much of the ball.”
"Wow that's far isn't it!" 😅

Pochettino Labels Gallagher Priceless
Following the game, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino reflected on Conor Gallagher’s starring role against his former side: “I think he’s a player with a great commitment to the team, always trying to compensate every single situation.
“It’s priceless to have a player like him. I’m so happy for him as it’s a victory we needed.”
Discussing reports linking Gallagher with a move away from the club, Pochettino said: “Always he decided, what he said to me was that he wanted to stay at Chelsea.
“But it’s about him and the club. I am not [worried about] these types of things, he has another year on his contract. But that’s a matter for him and the club.”
Following the victory, Chelsea move up to 10th in the Premier League table, while Palace languish in 15th, precariously close the the relegation places.
