Wolves vs Nottingham Forest Report: Steve Cooper Stops Losing Rut
Nottingham Forest came into the game low on confidence following their 5-0 thumping at the hands of Fulham midweek. Whereas, Wolves entered the contest in search of back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Steve Cooper’s side took the lead early on when Harry Toffolo converted at the back post from a Neco Williams cross. However, Wolves soon responded when Matheus Cunha slotted home from Pablo Sarabia’s cutback in the 32nd minute.
Chances were few and far between in the second half, with Wolves enjoying plenty of possession late on but struggling to carve Forest open. However, Matt Turner was called into action late on to deny Cunha his second of the game, in what was the best chance for a winner.
Forest ultimately held on to earn a draw, stopping their rot of four consecutive Premier League defeats. Whether the point is enough for Cooper to still be in charge when Forest welcome Tottenham to the City Ground on Friday remains to be seen.
As for Wolves, they have a week to recuperate before their clash away at West Ham next Sunday.
