Wolves Vs Burnley Report: Wolves Win To Keep Them Comfortably Away From Relegation Zone
Despite Burnley putting five past Sheffield United over the weekend, this game between Wolves and Burnley didn’t have goals written all over it. That proved to be the case, as Wolves vs Burnley was a scrappy affair, with not a lot of big chances in throughout.
Hee Chan Hwang got his ninth goal of the season in the Premier League in the 42nd minute. The goal came after Wolves were finally able to punish a Burnley mistake. Pablo Sarabia and Matheus Cunha combined to set up Hwang.
Dan Bentley, who was in goal for Wolves, turned out to be their hero as he helped Wolves keep their first clean sheet since August. Bentley was called upon to make sure the game stayed 1-0 to his Wolves side, and had the answers throughout.
As for Burnley, they’ll be disappointed to not have carried on their fine form from Saturday. They dismantled relegation rivals Sheffield United, but they couldn’t replicate that killer instinct at Wolves.
Burnley weren’t expected to change their style, even with the step-up to the Premier League. However, they’ve made mistakes too often, which has come back to haunt them. That’s why they find themselves in the relegation zone.
What Is Next For Wolves & Burnley?
Wolves host Nottingham Forest this Saturday, another game they’ll be hoping to take three points from, and then a trip to West Ham.
Burnley have a tough trip to Brighton this weekend and then a relegation clash with Everton the following week. Although there are lots of games left, Burnley will be keen to pick up as points quickly.
