Julen Lopetegui has turned down the chance to take over as Wolves manager stating the decision was made due to family reasons.
Lopetegui, who was sacked by Spanish side Sevilla last week, had been the preferred choice to take over from Bruno Lage, who was also sacked last week by the West Midlands outfit.
There was hopes that Wolves were going to be able to get the deal over the line after executive chairman Jeff Shi had travelled to Spain earlier this week for talks with the former Real Madrid boss.

The Wolves board have always been a big admirer of Lopetegui, he’s represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who has a close affiliation with the Wolves ownership. He was approached by them back in 2016 while the club were in the Championship.
Academy coaches Steve Davis and James Collins are currently taking interim charge of the club, and oversaw a 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the weekend.
Wolves are currently in the relegation zone having gained just six points from their opening nine Premier League games, during which time they have scored just three goals.
