Wolves look set to step up their talks with Julen Lopetegui regarding their managerial vacancy, after his sacking from Sevilla last night.
The 56-year-old was sacked by the Spanish side after their Champions League defeat against Borussia Dortmund.
Sevilla have one just once this season, and defeat to Dortmund was their sixth loss in 10 matches in all competitions.

He was appointed boss back in 2019, and led the club to their sixth Europa League title the following year.
Now following his sacking, the former Spain and Real Madrid manager is favourite to takeover from Bruno Lage at Wolves, who was sacked last weekend.
Lopetegui was the first choice for the Wolves owners back in 2016, when the club were in the Championship, however he chose to become Spain’s head coach instead.
The Spaniard spoke to Spanish media shortly before his sacking was officially announced by the club.
“I feel sadness and pain for leaving a team I love very much and which will, without a doubt, stay in my heart,
“I have already said goodbye to the players. It is not time to talk about being disrepsected. I’m thankful for all that I have achieved with this club.”
Sevilla are sitting 17th in La Liga, just one point clear of the drop zone.
