Round of 16 matches continue on Monday as we enter the second week. Having enjoyed a profitable first week, we are back this morning with a handful of Wimbledon tips for day 8.

Wimbledon Tips Day 8 – 10/07/2023

  • Carlos Alcaraz vs Matteo Berrettini – Alcaraz to Win 3-2 @ 7/2
  • Christopher Eubanks vs Stefanos Tsitsispas – Eubanks to Win @ 23/10
  • Elena Rybakina vs Beatriz Haddad Maia – Both Players to Win a Set @ 11/8

Back all three of our selections over at Paddy Power, which combine to make a 34/1 accumulator.

Wimbledon Tip Day 8 – Alcaraz to Win 3-2

Number one seed Carlos Alcaraz has so far backed up his impressive title at Queen’s, and the 20-year-old appears more and more comfortable on grass as the tournament progresses.

However, his round of 16 opponent Matteo Berrettini in enjoying a spectacular renaissance after entering the tournament having played just once since May. The 2021 runner-up has well and truly dusted off the cobwebs and is moving much more freely than he did at the start.

There are very few players who can match Alcaraz’s intensity, but a laboured win over Nicolas Jarry almost threatened to de-rail his bid for the title here, and Berrettini’s ability to rattle through service games without much exertion should cause the Spaniard problems.

The Italian hasn’t dropped a set in his previous two matches, and we expect this to go the distance. Alcaraz has managed to muster the strength to prevail in the most improbable scenarios however, and we are tipping him to snatch a hard-fought win.

Wimbledon Tip Day 8 – Eubanks to Win

We are going out on a limb here and predicting Christopher Eubanks to dump out number five seed Stefanos Tsitsipas.

It is hard to argue with Eubanks’s grass-court credentials – the American has won seven consecutive matches on this surface including a scintillating title victory in Mallorca in June.

Tsitsipas had to pull out all the stops to edge a fascinating contest with Andy Murray, but he will have to dig deep once again to resist Eubanks’s impeccable service game; he’s held his serve 93% of the time across the past couple of years.

This is enough for us to side with the value here and back the slight underdog.

Wimbledon Tip Day 9 – Rybakina vs Haddad Maia Both to Win a Set

Defending Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina was our early outright pick before the tournament got underway, and she has so far displayed little to dissuade our initial prediction.

This is undoubtedly her toughest test yet however, and she steps onto the court with Beatriz Haddad Maia whom she has fell to defeat twice in both of their career meetings.

This will be a battle of two of the biggest servers on the Tour, with both players very rarely relinquishing their service games. With this in mind, it would come as no surprise to see this go to three sets.
