This will be the second weekend in-a-row without a 12:30pm Premier League match. What is the reason this time?

Why Is There No 12:30pm Premier League Game On Saturday?

TNT Sports have started moving their early Saturday slot to 8pm if clubs involved have played an away Champions League game earlier that week.

Arsenal’s match against Newcastle was pushed to 8pm because the Gunners had played a midweek Champions League game in Portugal.

There is no European action this week, so why is there no 12:30pm game? This because TNT Sports only have a certain number of games that they can broadcast.

TNT Sports have the rights to broadcast 52 Premier League a season which are split by the weekend’s lunchtime/evening slot as well as two rounds of midweek fixtures.

This is only the third gameweek of the 2023/24 campaign that TNT have decided to not show a live match at any time over the weekend.

No doubt this will come as a relief to many Premier League managers. The 12:30pm kick-off is not a slot many managers or players enjoy. Especially Jurgen Klopp.

What about Sky Sports’ schedule?

Sky Sports will continue to have their usual schedule this weekend. Super Sunday is slightly different though. The Manchester Derby has a kick-off time of 3:30pm instead of the usual 4:30pm slot. This is to help avoid crowd trouble.

The match before that is Bournemouth v Burnley which has been moved up to 1pm, so viewers can enjoy both games.

When is the next 12:30pm game?

The schedule will return to normal in the next gameweek, which starts on Saturday 9th March 2024. TNT Sports will be broadcasting Manchester United v Everton with the usual 12:30pm kick-off.

The next two weekends following on from that will also have TNT Sports coverage. The broadcast fixture list hasn’t been announced following on from the March international break.
