Manchester City return to Premier League action following their Club World Cup triumph in Saudi Arabia with a trip to Merseyside to take on Sean Dyche’s Everton, but who is the referee for the clash?
Everton’s four game winning run in the Premier League was brought to an end by Tottenham in Gameweek 18, and it doesn’t get much easier on Wednesday night as they take on Club World Cup champions Manchester City. The Cityzens lifted the world title in Saudi Arabia last week after beating Fluminense 4-0 in the final, extending their unbeaten run to five straight matches.
As City aim to claw their way back into the top four after a few poor results in the league, John Brooks has been confirmed as the match referee, supported by his assistants Lee Betts and Adrian Holmes. Anthony Taylor will take up the fourth official role, with David Coote and Constantine Hatzidakis in the VAR room.

Brooks refereed Everton in the game prior to that in Gameweek 13, in which the Toffees were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Manchester United and a penalty was awarded against them due to a foul on Anthony Martial.
