Football fans woke up to devastating news on Thursday morning, as widely-revered former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson announced his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The former England and Lazio manager revealed he has “best case a year” to live while speaking to Swedish Radio P1. Eriksson said: “I’m going to resist for as long as I can.
“I have an illness that’s serious. Best case a year, I have worst case a lot less. It’s impossible to say exactly, so it’s better to not think about it.”

Across that 20-year period, Eriksson lifted four league titles, five domestic cups, as well as the UEFA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the Cup Winners’ Cup.
