Who Is Inaki Pena Sotorres?
The 24-year-old goalkeeper came through the ranks at Barcelona, learning his craft at the infamous ‘La Masia’ and has only made five appearances for the first team.
He is yet to make an appearance for Barcelona this season, but accumulated a total of 372 minutes for Barcelona last season – making his debut in the Champions League.
In his two La Liga appearances last season, Inaki Pena conceded five goals and his only clean sheet for Barcelona came in the Copa Del Ray during a 5-0 win over AD Ceutra.
In the 2021-22 season, the Spaniard went to Galatasaray on loan, where he made a total of eight appearances and even played against Barcelona.
European rules state that a loanee can play against their parent club and in the fixture at Camp Nou, the goalkeeper put in a stellar performance to keep the match at 0-0.
He is yet to make an appearance this season, but Barcelona manager Xavi has confirmed that he will be brought in this weekend – despite last donning the gloves in April.
