The Champions League last 16 second legs get underway this week and ahead of the next round in Europe, we take a look at when the Champions League draw is and who is left in the competition at the quarter final stage.
When Is The Champions League Quarter Final Draw?
The Champions League quarter final draw takes place on Friday 15th March 2024, with the first ball drawn out of the pot at 11:00 GMT.
Once the quarter final draw has been completed, the Champions League semi final and final draw will also be revealed. Teams from the same country CAN face each other from the quarter final stage and onwards.
When Will The Quarter Finals Be Played?
The first leg of the quarter finals in the Champions League will be played on the 9th and 10th of April, with the second legs played on the 16th and 17th of April 2024.
Who Is Left In The Champions League Draw?
There are 16 teams left in the Champions League at this stage, with just eight able to make it through to the quarter final draw next Friday.
Arsenal and Manchester City are the only Premier League sides left in the competition. Although City enjoyed a relatively comfortable first leg, Arsenal have left a lot to do in their home tie next Tuesday.
Porto were able to secure a dramatic 1-0 win over the Gunners last week, with Arsenal needing to turn around a one goal deficit if they are to make it to the Champions League last eight for the first time since 2010.
Bayern Munich also have work to do in their second leg – after Lazio upset the Bundesliga champions with a 1-0 win in Italy.
PSG are the only side in left in the competition other than Man City with a two goal advantage coming into their second leg, as they travel to Spain where they play Real Sociedad.
Real Madrid and Inter both hold a one goal lead coming into the second leg, with everything still to play for in this week’s ties.
Barcelona vs Napoli and Borussia Dortmund vs PSV both ended all square first time round, so the second leg is effectively a winner takes all affair.
