Mohammed Kudus’ goals for West Ham this season have him closing in on a 19-year record.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian forward has now scored nine home goals in all competitions for the Irons. No West Ham player has scored more at the London Stadium this campaign.
What’s more, the last player to score ten or more home goals for the Hammers in their debut season with the club was Teddy Sheringham back in 2004/05.
The England legend went on to net 21 total goals in all competitions for West Ham that season.
Kudus has been a phenomenal signing for David Moyes so far, but will not be available for tonight’s Premier League clash with Brighton.

The Ghana international will miss a number of games after linking up with the Black Stars ahead up the upcoming AFCON tournament.
This year’s competition gets underway on 13 January in the Ivory Coast and lasts until the final on 11 February.
Kudus won’t be the only player missing from David Moyes’ ranks for at least part of the tournament. The Irons will be without three players in total, with North African pair Saïd Benrahma and Nayef Aguerd also away.
Mohammed Kudus Stats
Since arriving in the summer from Eredivisie side Ajax for £38 million, Kudus has been in fine form. His six Premier League goals in 16 appearances add to two in the Europa League and another in the Carabao Cup for nine in total.
He had already scored four for Ajax before making the switch to London, so has 13 goals this season overall.
Kudus scored 27 times in 87 games for the Dutch outfit, but is already a third of the way to that total for West Ham.
Only Irons talisman Jarrod Bowen has more goals for the club than Kudus, with 13 in all competitions this season.
Kudus’ Stats Compared To Sheringham
While Kudus has made a fantastic start to his West Ham career, he still has a way to go to match Sheringham’s debut season.
At 38 years old, Sheringham was still banging in goals for Portsmouth, but dropped down to then Championship side West Ham after Pompey opted not to extend his contract.
The veteran quickly proved his worth to the Hammers, scoring the winner in his second league match, a 1-0 victory over Reading.
Do you think anyone currently playing in the Premier League has the longevity to beat this record? #EPL
Teddy Sheringham scored a goal against Portsmouth to become the oldest goal scorer in the EPL history at 40 years and 268 days old.

He would continue scoring until his retirement with Colchester in 2008. Sheringham notched up a total of 240 goals in an incredible 676 senior club appearances.
Kudus obviously has a long way yet to come anywhere near matching Sheringham for longevity or goals in English football.
But he’s certainly made a strong start and could well match his tally for a debut season at West Ham.
If he maintains his current form, Mohammed Kudus’ goals could well be the difference in his side’s pursuit of European football.
