West Ham vs Freiburg Preview & Prediction
The Hammers have already sealed their place in the next stage of the Europa League, but can finish top of Group A with a win against Freiburg.
David Moyes’ side pulled off a 1-0 victory in their most recent Europa League clash, narrowly beating TSC Backa Topola – thanks to a late Tomas Soucek strike.
However, in their last match (all competitions) the east London side were thrashed 5-0 by Fulham and had a host of players suffering with illness.
On the other hand, Freiburg won their most recent Europa League match 5-0 and will be looking to clinch a place at the top of Group A.
The Greek side have won their last three matches in all competitions, keeping a clean sheet on each occasion, moving them up to eighth in the Bundesliga.
West Ham pulled off a 2-1 win over the German side in the reverse fixture, as goals from Lucas Paqueta and Nayef Aguerd cancelled out Roland Sallai’s strike.
With this in mind, we expect the match to be extremely tight as both clubs look to top the group. However, the Premier League side should come out on top given their home advantage.
