The latest Tottenham transfer news indicates the club are expected to take up their permanent option on Timo Werner at the end of the season.

Timo Werner opted for a move to Spurs on loan in January, in an attempt to return to form and put himself in a better position to compete for a place in Germany’s side at this summer’s Euro 2024.
Werner had been struggling at parent club RB Leipzig earlier in the season and hoped a spell at Tottenham could help reignite a stuttering career.
The former Chelsea forward has chalked up two goals and two assists from eight appearances so far, and appears a suitable fit for Ange Postecoglou‘s fast and furious football. Word out of the camp is that he has been a worthwhile addition to the squad.
Spurs have an option to sign Werner for just £15million in the summer transfer window and various sources around the club are intimating that they will keep him on.
Werner, 28, has impressed staff with the way he handles himself on and off the pitch, proving a low-maintenance addition to the side along with a wealth of European experience.
Werner has 43 Champions League appearances to his name, and given Spurs are battling for that final top four spot with Aston Villa and Manchester United, his European pedigree could prove vital among an otherwise youthful, blossoming squad.
Spurs are currently one point behind Aston Villa, who occupy fourth spot in the Premier League, albeit having played one more fixture.
Sources say that the step up into the Champions League is seen as “where they need to be” even in these early stages of development under Ange Postecoglou. Despite falling from the upper echelons of the table after what appeared to be an early-season title charge, excitement remains about how quickly the side have developed an identity and philosophy.
